Do directory backlinks still work for SEO?
Some do, most do not. Google devalues backlinks from junk directories rather than penalizing them, so a bad directory simply wastes your time and money. How does ShipDR verify a backlink?
It fetches the listing page itself and reads it: is your backlink there, what rel it carries, and whether the page lets Google index it. JS-rendered pages go through a real browser. Checks follow the risk: a submission still waiting to go live is read every 6 hours, and any backlink rechecks on demand.
What does maker-proven mean?
Makers record real submissions of their own products, the checker fetches the listing page and verifies the backlink, and every result feeds that directory’s stats. Directories cannot pay to be listed or ranked.
